For more than two years now, Pastel Rooftop at the Aira Hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 11 has been a great option for sunset drinks or a fantastic Mediterranean dinner with skyline views, but at this point it's safe to say that it's also earned itself a spot as one of the top nightlife destinations in Bangkok.
Yes, you should definitely come for dinner, but stay past 9:00PM and you'll experience one of the better parties in the city – including DJs in a booth above the dancefloor, live percussion, a roaming saxophonist, sparklers, and the staff standing on the bar giving a free bottle shot to anyone that walks by.

Recently, I noticed they are focusing more attention on their special event programming. For example, they are hosting themed events on Wednesdays, like "Dance Mi Amor," "Circus," "Casablanca" (Moroccan theme), and "Amazonia" (Latin/jungle theme). Each night has it's own decor, costumed performers, and thematic elements.
Thursdays is "Ma Chérie" (Ladies Night), which provides free-flow sparkling wine for ladies from 9:00PM-12:00AM.
Fridays & Saturdays are packed, and include DJs, live musicians, dancers, and aerialists.
One thing that I was a little surprised about was the number of Thai women that came specifically for the party. I saw multiple large groups of Thai women having a great time. I think they like the music, upscale atmosphere, and overall vibe of the event. It is something really unique. There aren't many rooftops that can do true nightlife-style events, and the ones that do don't put nearly as much effort into it.
I will definitely be back again to check out their other theme nights. It's an easy decision, especially considering the location (in Sukhumvit Soi 11) is easy to get to, and also close to many other restaurants, bars, and clubs that I might want to visit during the same night. If you're in Bangkok soon, take a look at Pastel Rooftop, check out all of their upcoming events at pastelbangkok.com and follow them Instagram.
