Smokin Jo’s place in underground house & techno history is set in stone.
Since 1991, Jo has played a pivotal role in dance culture; winning DJ Mag’s ‘DJ Of The Year’ (the equivalent of topping the DJ Mag Top 100 back then!) & becoming a resident at the legendary Space in Ibiza in 1993.
Between then & now, Jo’s DJ resume reads like a who’s who of the world’s most respected underground music venue’s; Womb in Tokyo. Warung in Brasil. Amnesia, Pacha, Priviledge & Space in Ibiza. Panorama in Berlin. Fabric, The End & Ministry of Sound in London. We could go on forever.
Jo was also called upon by the likes of Jamiroquai, The Pet Shop Boys, Alexander McQueen & Grace Jones and was even the face of the MORTAL KOMBAT 2 video game – appearing in a worldwide poster campaign as the character Mileena.
