Berlin during the 1990s and early 2000s was all about banging techno and its low-fat sibling, Minimal. Fast forward to today, and the sound of Germany’s capital has become super-sophisticated and packs some serious dance floor muscle. Berlins Producers and DJs, inspired by the sound of the great American techno innovators, seem to have taken the terms ‘Deep’ and ‘Detroit’ to another sonic level.
Offsetting the seriousness of the Berlin sound is the craziness of Berlin’s infamous clubs and dance parties – behind closed doors, anything goes for days on end and without any pretensions to being cool or beautiful. It’s all about the music and the party.
This Saturday, 23 June, German-born DJs Mr Tom_Cat, Felix Moreno and Jaydubb will share some of the Berlin magic with their Bangkok friends. Expect BERLIN BEATS TO shake you to the core, because tonight Glow will go real deep.
