Philly’s own DJ Cash Money has been a staple in the world of Hip Hop for over two decades. In his battling days, he won the New Music Seminar DJ Championship, the DMC American Mixing Championship and the DMC World Supremacy DJ Championship. As a previous DMC champion he is in demand to judge DJ battles and contests worldwide and in 1988 was inducted into the DMC Hall of Fame.
By the early nineties Cash had joined platinum-selling R&B act PM Dawn, remixed and produced the group’s gold selling single, “Ways of the Wind”, on Island Records and had produced “Wild Hot” by Busta Rhymes and also worked with Q-Tip for the “Rhyme and Reason” soundtrack. His production skills also resulted in his singles, “Ugly People Be Quiet, Find An Ugly Woman” and “Where’s the Party At?” on the Billboard charts.
Today Cash has been mixing and releasing music including the WKIS-FM and Old School Need to Learn Plot II. These compilations feature Cash’s distinctive mixing style with the music of other Hip Hop originators like Big Daddy Kane, Run DMC, Public Enemy and Eric B.and Rakim.
Cash’s international touring schedule is as demanding as ever and has brought him to over 20 countries and more than 50 cities in the U.S. He has appeared in Rolling Stone, Billboard, Vibe, GG, The Variety, Source, Blaze, DMC, Canadian DJ, Right On, Rap Pages, DJ Times, Black Beat, Touch (England), XXL, Woofin (Japan), URB, NME (London)-Mix Mag, and 411 Mag just to name a few. With his hot performances, DJ Cash Money is a hard act to follow!
