Thousands of people have been evacuated as serious monsoon floods rage toward Bangkok after killing more than 260 people in the north. It’s
Thailand’s worst deluge in more than 50 years and it threatens to inundate the capital over the next few days. About 30 of Thailand’s 77 provinces remain underwater, and thousands of Thais have been rendered homeless – having lost everything they owned.
People need help and you can assist. They have no place to live, no food to eat and no fresh water to drink. The situation is dire.
Cafe de Bangkok is launching an effort to help. But we need your assistance.
The Cafe has organized the “Thonglor-Ekamai Flood RELIEF Fund” on
Saturday 22 October 2011 from 11am to 6 pm. Cafe de Bangkok will set up 7 booths offering food and beverage services and fantastic live music and DJ performances at the Garden Car park. The hundred baht entrance fee will go to support the victims of these devastating floods, and a portion of sales will also be donated.
